About Me

I’m a neurology physician and researcher specializing in sleep disorders and in autism, and work for Vanderbilt University Medical Center remotely. I recently relocated to Hartford, Vermont.

During the pandemic, I realized I had a passion for communicating with the public and with policy makers, to make science and health digestible and promote critical thinking. I’ve given a TEDx talk- “The Art of Communicating Science.” I’ve written a book for parents of children with autism entitled "Solving Sleep Problems in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders: A Guide for Frazzled Families."

As a science and health writer and speaker, I’m also engaged in civil discourse, and have experience in communicating with those who hold differing views. I serve as a workshop an debate leader  for Braver Angels, a non-profit bipartisan organization focused on bridging partisan divides and co-led the discussion group "Common Ground Nashville" for five years.
